Attention, in the night from Saturday to Sunday we switch to summer time

Switching to summer time: What direction are we going in? – 20 minutes

Did you think the time change was over? Not at all: the coronavirus pandemic has shelved this reform expected by some, feared by others. So this weekend, we switch to summer time, and probably not for the last time. Concretely, in the night from Saturday to Sunday, at two o’clock, it will in fact be three o’clock.

You may have understood it, so we’re going to lose an hour of sleep this weekend. So remember to change the time on your mechanical clocks, if you still have any. Beyond that, with the curfew that has been going on for months now, the difference will not necessarily be obvious when you wake up on Sunday morning.

An hour counts!

However, sleep is important and an hour more or less takes into account. “With difficulty falling asleep and waking up, even for an hour of delay, there are difficulties in concentrating, an increase in anxiety, mood movements”, explained this fall Benjamin Lubszynski, sleep coach, in the local newspaper The public good.

As a reminder, the time change was introduced in 1976 to save energy.
