Jannik Sinner loses a set but then safely advances to the quarterfinals at the tennis tournament in Halle.
After losing the second set, he quickly made things clear in the third, even though he lost another service game when the score was 5:1. The Australian Open champion could now face Jan-Lennard Struff on Friday. Struff will play against the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas on Thursday evening.
Hubert Hurkacz also made it to the quarterfinals. The Pole, who won the German grass court classic in 2022, beat Australian qualifier James Duckworth 7:6 (7:3), 6:4. Hurkacz served 17 aces.
