The DFB team and media representatives were to remain in the stadium. The police spoke of a “dangerous situation outside the stadium, which we are taking very seriously.” But then the all-clear was quickly given.

After the international soccer match between the German national team and Ukraine on Monday evening in Nuremberg, the police gave the all-clear after a “serious dangerous situation”. According to the police, shortly after 11 p.m., emergency services found an object suspected of being explosive in the outdoor area of the stadium.

However, the investigations revealed that there was never an actual threat. The DFB team and media representatives were initially asked to remain in the stadium shortly before midnight.

DFB team still partly in interview zone

The police had cordoned off a large area of the incident site as a precaution. The departure of the two team buses was delayed due to the security area that had been set up. Some guests were unable to leave the stadium for a short time and were led out of the stadium by a different route for safety reasons.

“We are aware of a dangerous situation outside the stadium, which we are taking very seriously,” the police initially said. Shortly before the security forces made their announcement, national coach Julian Nagelsmann had just finished the press conference. Some players, such as Manuel Neuer, were still in the interview zone. After around 15 minutes, the police gave the all-clear.
