Asylum Policy – Refugee Council calls for more help for Afghans – Bavaria

The Bavarian Refugee Council calls for more political support for people at risk from Afghanistan as well as broad solidarity from the population. On Tuesday, representatives of the Refugee Council reportedly presented Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) with an open letter signed by 47 organizations and more than 220 individuals. In the letter they call for a state program to take in vulnerable people from Afghanistan, an unbureaucratic and quick return of Afghans with a residence permit in Bavaria, simplified admission of family members and the prospect of being allowed to stay for Afghans who live with tolerated status in Bavaria. They should quickly receive a training or work permit.
