Actress and country singer Naomi Judd (1946-2022) has died. She was 76 years old. The sad news was shared by her daughter, Hollywood star Ashley Judd (54), in a statement on Instagram With. “Today we sisters witnessed a tragedy,” she wrote. Her sister Wynonna Judd (57) was on stage with her mother as the country duo The Judds for years. “We lost our wonderful mother to mental illness,” the statement said.

The two sisters are “shattered” and “are going through a deep sorrow”. “We know that just as we loved her, her audience loved her,” continued Ashley Judd. A number of stars expressed their condolences in the comments below the post, including Debra Messing, 53, Shailene Woodley, 30, Lindsey Vonn, 37, Salma Hayek, 55, Reese Witherspoon, 46, and Zoe Saldana, 43.

The Judds had another tour planned for 2022

The Judds’ most famous songs include “Mama He’s Crazy” and “Why Not Me”. Mother and daughter formed the duo in the early 1980s. They ended their careers in 1991 after Naomi Watts was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis. But even in the years that followed, the two occasionally made appearances together.

In early April, Naomi and Wynonna Judd performed their hit “Love Will Build a Bridge” at the CMT Music Awards. It was her first TV appearance in 20 years. They also announced a tour dubbed “The Final Tour” to take place in September and October. Her induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville was to be celebrated on Sunday (May 1).
