In April, the eight-month-old daughter of ex-professional soccer player Ashley Cain died. Now he reveals how he is dealing with the death of his daughter.

Ex-professional footballer Ashley Cain (31) had to cope with a major loss in April: The eight-month-old daughter of the Briton, Azaylia Diamond, lost her battle against leukemia. Cain and his partner Safiyya Vorajee (34) have now set up a foundation in honor of the girl.

The “Azaylia Foundation” is not only intended to help other sick children and to honor those who have tried to save Azaylia’s life. As Cain explains to the British newspaper “The Sun”, she is also helping himself to cope with the grief.

Foundation is a way to “raise” Azaylia

“We wanted our daughter’s name to stay alive and help other children, so we didn’t waste a single second,” explains Ashley Cain. “We want to be the best parents for Azaylia so that she can look down on us and be proud.” It is also the foundation that helps them “get out of bed in the morning”. “I don’t have my daughter here on earth,” said Safiyya Vorajee. “I see the foundation as a way to raise them.”

Ashley Cain has shared his daughter’s illness with his Instagram followers since being diagnosed in October 2020. Thousands of people were affected by the fate of the young family.
