Aschheim/Kirchheim – Extension of the A 99 continues – District of Munich

The expansion of the eastern bypass of the A 99 is progressing, from next March the carriageway will be widened from three to four lanes from the Kirchheim junction in the direction of Salzburg. In the following year, the lane in the direction of Salzburg/Lindau will also be expanded to four lanes, according to the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes. Then one of the largest infrastructure projects in the district of Munich – the eight-lane widening of the A 99 from the Haar junction to the Munich-North motorway junction – will be completed.

The expansion of the eastern bypass also involves numerous renovations and the construction of new bridges over the motorway. This Monday, December 5th, the newly built bridge at the Kirchheim junction over the A 99 will be put into operation and the temporary bridge on Erdinger Straße will be taken out of service. From Thursday, December 8th to Monday, December 12th, the temporary bridge will be dismantled and excavated over the four nights. This may result in lane closures and relocations, but traffic on the A 99 will continue to flow at night. At the Kirchheim exit, ramps may be closed at times, traffic will then be diverted locally via the Kirchheimer Kreisel or the Aschheim industrial estate, all diversions will be signposted.
