Nina Chuba has been playing the piano and making music since she was a child. In 2022, the Berlin-based artist achieved her breakthrough with “Wildberry Lillet”. Now she is working on her second album – with one resolution.
With “Wildberry Lillet” the musician Nina Chuba achieved her first number one position in the singles charts two years ago. The Hamburg native’s first studio album (“Glas”) was just as successful. Now she is working on album number two and wants to take her time with it.
“I don’t have a date yet. I have a rough time frame, but I don’t really want to release anything yet because I don’t want to put myself under pressure,” the 25-year-old told the German Press Agency in Hamburg. “My album takes as long as it takes. I want it to be good. And if that means it takes a little longer, then so be it.” That’s why the Berlin-based artist wants to release individual songs first. “And then the album will be released sometime next year.”
“I just want to be able to stand behind it one hundred percent”
She definitely feels that the pressure has increased because of the second album. “The pressure is greater because there was no real pressure before. Before that, you didn’t have to prove anything to anyone or you didn’t have anyone expecting anything from you.” Logically, that’s different now. “Of course, you want to keep your place somehow.” That won’t be easy. But: “I’ll just do my best.”
She doesn’t want to listen to numbers or streams, but rather to her own feelings. “I just want to be happy and satisfied with what I put out and to be able to stand behind it one hundred percent.”
Nina Chuba starts her open-air tour through Germany on June 21st in Dresden. On August 25th she will perform at the race track in Hamburg. Chuba was part of the ARD series “Die Pfefferkörner” as a child. She is currently working on her second album. The singles “Nina” and “80qm” were recently released. According to her own information, she has sold 1.7 million records to date, her music videos have been viewed millions of times and she has more than 860,000 followers on Tiktok.
