Arsenal’s season continues to look like a hilly stage in the Tour de France. A few good surprises sometimes, but above all a lot of downs, especially against the champions of the championship. And again, this year’s Liverppol is only the shadow of past seasons, which did not prevent him from coming to teach the Gunners a lesson at the Emirates (0-3). A poor performance for Arteta, who spoke to the fans at the end of the match.

“We have to apologize to our people, to our fans,” Mikel Arteta said after the rout against the Reds. I have to apologize for what we have done on this ground. I am fully responsible. They were much better than us in all areas. They won every duel, every ball, every challenge. I don’t need to use excuses, and say we’re missing five or six players, that’s not about that. I hate excuses. They were much better than us in all areas of the game. […] The standards must be higher in this football club. My job is to bring them (the players) to this level ”.

Fine words, of course, but which come up against a cruel reality: 9th in the championship, Arsenal is gradually approaching a team with a soft underbelly in the Premier League. Fortunately, there is still the Europa League and a playable quarter-final against Slavia Prague to hope to see C1 again next year. It would be a small miracle, anyway.
