A gendarme from the Saint-Girons motorized platoon died on Friday while patrolling with his vehicle in the village of L’Herm. The soldier was 37 years old.
It is a real tragedy that occurred this Friday, May 13 on the roads of Ariège. Around 5 p.m., Jean-Jacques Bloy, non-commissioned officer and gendarme of the Saint-Girons motorized brigade since September 2020, died while riding a motorcycle. This father of two, married, was on a “route reconnaissance mission” with one of his colleagues in the village of L’Herm, before falling with his two-wheeler.
The policeman accompanying him called the emergency services. The 37-year-old victim died of his injuries. Asked by The Midi Dispatch, the public prosecutor of Foix, Olivier Mouysset, indicated that no “race-pursuit had been engaged” by the two motorcyclists. This indicates that this is, without doubt, an “unfortunate accident”.

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the research brigade of Pamiers. In the evening, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin wished to pay tribute to the deceased gendarme.
