Argentina: Javier Milei declares war on his own people

Javier Milei wants to privatize half of Argentina and dictate to his citizens that they should save money. Now he has pushed through a reform package. The streets of Buenos Aires are boiling over.

Horacio Bravo traveled from his working-class neighborhood to the center of Buenos Aires at six in the morning. He put on a jacket with the name of his employer – Radio Nacional. He unfurled his union’s flag and then vowed his colleagues to relentless protests.

Their motto: “The fatherland is not for sale.”

If President Javier Milei has his way, the state radio station will be privatized, as will the airline Aerolineas Argentinas, the state oil company YPF and countless public companies and organizations, pretty much everything.
