Are women the big losers of the pension reform?

On January 23, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne presented the pension reform bill to the Council of Ministers. And the least we can say is that it’s a real bag of knots! Many questions remain around hardship, choppy careers, public service, internships… In short, you have understood it, it is not easy to find your way around.

But if there is one thing the government is sure of, it is that this reform will better protect women. How ? Thanks, for example, to the minimum pension which will be revalued and to parental leave which must be better integrated into the count of the quarters. Another proposal in the law: the age of removal of the discount will not be changed. These arguments are also taken up by several ministers and deputies from the majority.

Concern ? It is that this bill is far from being unanimous, even among the elected representatives of the majority. Several deputies even affirm that, contrary to what the government says, the pension reform will not make it possible to reduce all the inequalities vis-à-vis women.

But then, what is it really? The answer, in the video placed at the top of the article.
