Companies only want to hire the best. Strategy professor Chengwei Liu advises against it. He explains why you can learn little from people with an impeccable vita – and what decisive disadvantage they usually have compared to their competitors.

In an application process, it is not necessarily better to always rely on the best candidates. In certain circumstances, companies should select their employees at random. At least that’s what Chengwei Liu is convinced of. He is associate professor for strategy and behavioral science at the private university ESMT Berlin and conducts research on happiness in business and society.
