Antonio Conte operated on to have his gallbladder removed

Tottenham’s Italian coach Antonio Conte will undergo surgery on Wednesday to have his gallbladder removed, Spurs said, without specifying how long he will be out after the operation.

“Antonio Conte has recently been bothered by acute abdominal pain. After he was diagnosed with cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder) he will be operated on today to remove the gallbladder,” the statement explained. Conte “will return after a period of recovery”, continued the club without further details on the schedule.

A busy schedule for Spurs

Currently 5th in the Premier League, in the fight for qualification for the next Champions League, Tottenham will receive Manchester City (2nd), Sunday, for the 22nd day. In two weeks, Spurs must also face AC Milan in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
