The drinks manufacturer Red Bull has been targeted by the EU competition authorities. On Monday, officials unannounced inspected sites of an energy drink company in different EU countries, the European Commission said on Tuesday. The Austrian company confirmed this. “The Commission fears that the inspected company could have broken antitrust rules that prohibit monopolies and anti-competitive practices,” said the Brussels authority. The Red Bull headquarters in Fuschl near Salzburg did not comment on the suspicion. EU officials had visited the company’s premises, the company said. “Of course we will work with them on all matters that affect them,” it said.
