You had to get tested at the start. Now you have to do it on arrival. After suspending flights between Brazil and France on Tuesday until April 19, due to concerns around the Brazilian variant to the coronavirus, the government is toughening the rules for the neighboring territory of Guyana.

“As a precaution, antigenic tests have been systematized for travelers coming from Guyana on arrival at Paris airports”, indicates to 20 minutes the entourage of the Minister of the Interior. This rule also applies to departures from the mainland to the overseas region.

In addition to the PCR test

This antigenic test is in addition to the obligation, always in both directions, to present a negative PCR test dating back less than 72 hours and to justify a compelling reason for making this trip. The new antigen test rule has for example been put in place “for arrivals at Orly this (Thursday) morning”, we are told at Place Beauvau.

According to the French Guyana Regional Health Agency (ARS), quoted by RTL, 80% of Covid-19 contaminations in the region are linked to the Brazilian variant, considered to be more contagious, more dangerous, and more resistant to vaccines.
