Anti-Semitism debate: Geraldine Rauch deserves a second chance – Opinion

Geraldine Rauch, who heads the TU Berlin, has approved a clearly anti-Semitic post – apparently out of negligence, not conviction. But the debate surrounding her is escalating nonetheless.

Does anyone need a visual lesson on how difficult it has become to discuss the topic of anti-Semitism rationally in this country? Then it is worth looking to Berlin, to the Technical University (TU). Its president, Geraldine Rauch, is currently under extreme scrutiny. She does not want to give up her position, but her critics insist on it. How this conflict, which has escalated into a duel, will end is still an open question. What is becoming clear, however, is that it seems impossible to find any kind of consensus on this tricky issue.
