After an anti-Semitic attack in downtown Hamburg, the alleged perpetrator has now apparently been caught. He was arrested by Hamburg investigators in Berlin.

A police spokesman confirmed the arrest, but details have not yet been released. Investigators had been looking for the suspects for more than a week. They are said to have disrupted a regular vigil for Israel in Mönckebergstrasse on September 18, initially insulting the participants and shouting anti-Semitic slogans.

When the troublemakers were then confronted, one of them suddenly slapped a 60-year-old participant in the vigil in the face. The man was badly injured and suffered multiple fractures in his face. The three to four attackers fled on e-scooters. Witnesses filmed the incident and provided photos to the police, showing several young men.
