An aggressive and drunk man threatens to attack his wife and family members with a machete. The police and special forces are moving in.

A drunk man threatened his family in Ansbach, triggering a large-scale police operation. The officials were finally able to overwhelm the mentally disturbed man, he was admitted to a specialist clinic, the police said on Saturday.

The emergency services were called to a residential building in the city center early on Saturday evening because, according to witnesses, a man had threatened to attack family members with a machete. When the officers arrived, the “highly aggressive 50-year-old also directed his massive threats” at the police officers, it said. Therefore, reinforcement and special forces were informed. The area around the house was therefore cordoned off over a large area.

Police officers then entered the building, where they met the man on the ground floor. The officials could have overpowered the 50-year-old, and he suffered a laceration on his head. The police officers were not injured, as was the man’s wife and two other family members who were present. A breath alcohol test revealed a value of more than one per thousand in the man, the police said. Because he was mentally disturbed, he was placed in a specialist clinic. It was initially unclear whether the man actually had a machete.
