Ansbach: Bomb threat in rail traffic – Bavaria

A large-scale police operation at Ansbach train station on Sunday led to numerous delays and cancellations in regional and long-distance traffic. Because of a bomb threat, both the tracks and the train station in Middle Franconia itself were closed, said a police spokesman. A train coming from Nuremberg was stopped at the train station in Ansbach, cleared and then searched. Around 150 passengers had to get off.

On the train in question, a passenger saw a vague threat and called the police. The police initially did not give any further details. According to a railway spokesman, long-distance traffic between Würzburg and Augsburg was diverted via Nuremberg and Fürth, which led to delays in the relevant trains. In regional traffic, trains were canceled on sections of the route.
