Another dolphin found skinned on a beach

The cutouts on his back, frank, do not seem to leave any doubt. Thursday, a dead and dismembered dolphin was “found on Bergère beach in La Barre-de-Monts, in Vendée, by one of our supporters”, indicates Sea Shepherd France on social networks, photo in support.

According to the association, the animal was probably eaten by the fishermen who captured it. “While not all fishermen engage in this strictly illegal practice, some are still considering dolphins, a ‘protected’ species, as food”, deplores the NGO.

On-board cameras

Six months ago, a similar case had already been identified in Vendée. Discoveries “regular” enough on the French coast for Sea Shepherd France to continue to demand the introduction of on-board cameras on fishing vessels as well as the prohibition of fishing areas frequented by dolphins “to non-selective vessels”.
