Annual review 2022: chronicle part 3: July to September – Ebersberg

That Grafing Youth Orchestra celebrates its stage comeback after Corona: For years, the 80 musicians have been looking for a hall for their rehearsals and performances. Now they’ve found what they’re looking for on the outskirts of town: in the new tin hall of the building yard, they put on a brilliant show, as always.

Isn’t that cheaper? The SPD parliamentary group asked this question in July. Specifically, it is about the planned vocational school. In order to get the 100 million project off the waiting list soon, the comrades propose to implement the school in sections and to check whether testing new construction methods can save costs and generate subsidies.

By summer at the latest it will be clear: the mobile stage will no longer drive through the Ebersberger Land. Since the mobile theater trailer no longer belongs to the district, potential tenants have had to dig deep into their pockets. Even the popular folk rock band Sharivari from Kirchseeon therefore declines with thanks.

A slap instead of money is given to a young man who, together with an accomplice, tried to rob a gas station in Vaterstetten in mid-July. The gas station attendant not only refuses to hand over the cash register, he also hits one of the two in the face, whereupon the two men flee. A little later, the 21- and 23-year-olds are arrested by the police.

Inspector coincidence helps the police in Markt Schwaben at the end of July. Sacks of branded clothing are found in a car attempting to flee during a vehicle check. This has a value of around 60,000 euros and was stolen during a burglary in Austria the day before. The clothes are handed over to the owner, the burglars to the Austrian police.

At the beginning of August, the Arbeiterwohlfahrt announced that it would be dissolving two of its six local associations: Poing and Zorneding. This is mainly due to the decline in members. Nothing should change in the offer, according to Awo, this will be continued by the district associations.

In mid-August things get sporty in Vaterstetten: The stadium of the large community becomes the training location for the European Championships, which are held in Munich’s Olympic grounds.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? The community of Vaterstetten! At the end of August, she won’t win in the game show, but in court. And against an investment broker who had recommended the Greensill bank, which later went bankrupt. As a result of the bankruptcy, Vaterstetten lost around 5.5 million euros in 2021. The mediator acted negligently and must pay damages, the district court has now ruled.

In mid-September, commuting in the district becomes a good deal more tedious – at least if you’re traveling on the B304. This is being renovated in the area between Vaterstetten and Zorneding, which is why the speed limit is 30 during the day and completely closed at night for almost two months. The cost of the construction measure is around 3.7 million euros. Anyone traveling between Glonn and Hohenthann also has to take detours: State road 2079 is also being renovated at a cost of around two million euros.

There is also trouble with traffic in Pliening, where the association “Stadt und Land München Ost” is founded in September. Eleven municipalities from the three districts of Ebersberg, Erding and Munich want to work with the state capital to find solutions to improve the traffic situation in the east of Munich and expand local public transport.

In Zorneding, too, they want less traffic. In mid-September, a citizens’ initiative hands over a good 600 signatures to the community. The goal: truck traffic should use the bypass opened in 2007 and not through towns.

In Ebersberg one also deals with traffic. At the end of September, there will be an investigation into where the cars are going in the city. There will be a first result in November at the citizens’ meeting: According to this, most cars in Ebersberg have the district town either as a start or destination – or both.

There is a milestone birthday to celebrate in the summer in Vaterstetten: the community library is turning 50. There are numerous events, the highlight being an anniversary event in September with actor Thomas Maria Peters.

At the end of September, the fifth high school in the district said that implementation was not at risk, but rather implementation. According to a new calculation, the project planned in Poing would cost around 110 million euros. At the same time, voices are increasing calling for the construction of the vocational school to be given priority. In October, the responsible district council committee decides to leave the high school and vocational school on the waiting list for 2023 as well.
