It started a few weeks ago with reports in the CBS magazine show 60 Minutes and articles in the UK DailyMail: Once again, big news about the fate of Anne Frank has been announced. An international team of researchers found out who betrayed the family to the Germans: a Jewish notary, a former member of the Amsterdam Jewish Council. And there will be a book about it soon. But the advertised work, which is also to be published in German in March under the title “The Betrayal of Anne Frank”, was disappointing: all experts unanimously disagreed with the method and conclusion. Nevertheless, the matter made headlines around the world. We spoke to Yves Kugelmann, speaker and board member of the Basel-based Anne Frank Fund.
