Annalena Baerbock has brought international climate policy to the Foreign Ministry for the first time. In Sharm el-Sheikh she ends up in the middle of a global conflict.

The German entourage is in a hurry for the last few meters. He meanders through the winding corridors of the VIP area, crosses a room with massive leather armchairs at a brisk pace and finally reaches an adjoining room of the climate summit. Annalena Baerbock has reached her goal. The door opens and an old man awaits you behind it with a keen eye: Lula da Silva, Brazil’s former and future president.
