If you want to understand Russia’s secret services, and that means if you want to understand Russia, you’ll quickly end up with Andrei soldatov. As an investigative journalist, he has worked in media such as the Novaya Gazeta publishes, co-wrote books with Irina Borogan about the power of the domestic intelligence agency FSB (“The New Nobility”) and he runs the information platform agentura.ru. A few days ago, soldatov and Borogan reported something remarkable: Sergei Beseda, head of the FSB foreign department, and his deputy are under house arrest, the two write.
