B.And transport minister Andreas Scheuer sees the future federal government’s duty to take countermeasures if fuel prices are too high. “Around two thirds of the price of petrol are influenced by the state with taxes and duties,” said the CSU politician “Image”. “The state must therefore intervene at the latest at a price of 1.99 euros per liter and, in return, lower taxes.” The state should not be the main beneficiary of high fuel prices.
Scheuer called on FDP leader Christian Lindner to implement this in talks with the SPD and the Greens for a traffic light alliance. Lindner called for countermeasures to be taken on the price of petrol during the election campaign.
“This is exactly what he must now enforce in a traffic light coalition. Otherwise he makes himself implausible. And the traffic lights are already showing how indifferent they are to the concerns of citizens, ”Scheuer told the newspaper.
