Good news for all fans of André Rieu. The star violinist will tour Germany again in 2025. A total of 15 concerts are planned.

André Rieu (74) will be coming back to Germany in 2025. The Dutch star violinist will open his world tour in Munich on January 22, 2025 with his 60-member orchestra. According to the press release, a total of 15 concerts are planned in Germany. After Munich, the stops will be Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Mannheim, Hamburg, Berlin, Rostock and Hanover. In May 2025, he will be on stage in Chemnitz, Leipzig, Erfurt and Halle (Westphalia). Cologne, Frankfurt/Main and Oberhausen are finally on the program in autumn.

“The atmosphere is unique”

“It’s always fantastic to perform in Germany and feel the enthusiasm and passion of the fans. The atmosphere is unique and I can’t wait to be there again,” says Rieu happily. “It will certainly be an unforgettable experience once again and I’m looking forward to sharing these wonderful moments with my fans.” According to the announcement, viewers can look forward to “a romantic and colorful program of opera, hits, musicals, film music, evergreens and, of course, cheerful waltzes.”

But the Dutchman still has a few concerts planned for this year. At the beginning of June he performed in Erfurt and Leipzig. From September he will travel with his Johann Strauss Orchestra to Chile, Colombia, Eastern Europe and the Netherlands.

Pension? “A terrible thought!”

The word pension does not seem to exist in his life. “A terrible thought!”, Rieu once said in an interview with spot on news, pushing back any thoughts of retirement. “I love the life I live, my ‘work’, which I don’t even want to call work, the music, my orchestra, my audience all over the world, the many countries and cities we visit. I really am living my dream, and the word pension does not come into it.” The Dutchman celebrates his 75th birthday on October 1st.
