Who will succeed Daniel Craig as James Bond? Ana de Armas, who last starred in No Time To Die, has a particular favorite.

After Daniel Craig’s (55) departure as 007, a new actor will slip into the role of gentleman spy James Bond. While British bookmakers currently lead Henry Cavill (39) and “Bullet Train” star Aaron Taylor-Johnson (32), Ana de Armas (34) has a special candidate in mind for Craig’s successor. In a joint interview with her “Ghosted” co-star Chris Evans (41) de Armas, who embodied the CIA agent Paloma in “James Bond 007: No Time to Die” (2021), spoke out for the Irish actor Paul Mescal (27) as the new Bond.

That’s probably why Paul Mescal won’t become 007

“I think it should be Paul Mescal,” said de Armas literally. Her colleague Evans, on the other hand, wants bookmaker favorite Taylor-Johnson in the Bond role. “Paul Mescal is amazing. I’m a huge Aaron Taylor-Johnson fan,” said the former Captain America actor.

Paul Mescal is best known for appearing on the Hulu series Normal People (2020), and just earned a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his performance in the moving father-daughter drama Aftersun (2022). However, it is unlikely that he will become the new Bond actor. Because Debbie McWilliams, the longtime casting director of the Agents film series, revealed just last week that no actor under the age of 30 can be considered 007. According to McWilliams, the younger actors lack the “Gravitas” required for the role – and Mescal is just 27 years old.
