An octogenarian operated for a shell stuck in the anus, the hospital evacuated

According to information from Var-Morning, the Toulon hospital was partially evacuated this weekend, the time of a patient operation. The latter, aged 88, presented himself to the emergency room with a shell from the First World War stuck in his anus.

The treatment of this patient required the intervention of deminers, who ruled out any risk of explosion. Part of the facility has been moved to the main hall, and some services confined with the help of security and firefighters on site. The new patients were also diverted to other hospitals, the time of the intervention. The shell has been removed and the patient is in good health.
