Difficult to find a room? There’s a lot more to give away, says Johannes Bader. He has developed an app that can be used to find flat shares. A conversation about living in Munich and the question: What makes a functioning shared apartment?

Johannes Bader is, of course, sitting in his shared kitchen. The average age is constantly increasing, says the 31-year-old, who looks like he could have stepped out of a Panini album from the 87/88 Bundesliga season. Bader comes from the Allgäu, completed an apprenticeship as an electronics technician after school, worked in assembly and then worked for management consultancies. He has been living in flat shares in Munich for the past ten years and now has the app hey room developed for searching and finding rooms and roommates.
