An anti-projectile net soon to be installed at the Allianz Riviera

Its installation should not delay. The technical file for the installation of an anti-projectile device at the Allianz Riviera will be submitted to the authorities this week for validation, said on Monday Nice Eco Stadium (NES), manager of the Nice stadium, two days after the incidents during of the match between Nice and OM.

Pulleys had been installed on the roof of the stadium as part of tests, in order to complete a file jointly assembled for months by NES and OGC Nice. The prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes had called for the installation of such a device, just like Jean-Pierre Rivère, the president of the Riviera club, after the meeting.

By November 7

The processing of such an application for a building permit would take a maximum of two months. The anchoring, adjustments and final tests would take two weeks. NES’s goal is for this 70m wide and 16 high net to be deployed in front of the southern corner of the Allianz Riviera for the Nice-Montpellier match on November 7.

Sunday, the match between Nice and OM was definitively interrupted in the 78th minute, after Dimitri Payet was the target of ultra Nice supporters.

Hit in the back by a plastic water bottle, the Olympian returned the projectile to the audience. It was then that Nice supporters invaded the lawn, causing a general fight between supporters, players and members of the management of the two clubs. The disciplinary committee of the LFP must look into these incidents on Wednesday.
