The rectorate of the Lille academy announced, Friday, May 26, the opening of an administrative investigation after the suicide of Lindsay, 13, a schoolgirl in Pas-de-Calais, and victim of school harassment, according to his family. . Schooled in class of 4e at the Bracke-Desrousseau college in Vendin-le-Vieil, the young girl killed herself on May 12 in the evening at her home, according to the rectorate.

“An administrative investigation will be set up in view of the situation”, announced at a press conference Jean-Roger Ribaud, academic director in Pas-de-Calais. He conceded that school services could have “go further in the follow-up” of the young girl, whose harassment was known to the establishment.

Four minors charged

Four minors have been indicted for “school harassment leading to suicide”, the Béthune prosecutor announced on Thursday. A major person was indicted for “death threats”.
