It’s confirmed, Grey’s Anatomy will have the right to an 18th season! The unbeatable ABC series will therefore be able to continue to break all records with, in the operating room, Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. And as good news never comes alone, the spin-off series Station 19 will also return with a fifth season. As such, the writing will remain in the hands of Krista Vernoff who will continue to develop characters both as executive producer and showrunner on both series. And if nothing seems to indicate that it will be a final, it must be said that it was not easy for ABC Signature to put the cover back for this 18th season.

Indeed, the production company owned by Disney TV Studios which is behind Grey’s Anatomy fought hard to come to an agreement with Krista Vernoff. And the negotiations were no less complicated with Ellen Pompeo, the highest paid actress of the series who also invests there as a producer.
