Amy Winehouse died in July 2011. Now fans can bid for souvenirs of the legendary singer. More than 800 items from her estate are going under the hammer, including clothes, shoes, books – and a birthday card.

Ten years after the death of Amy Winehouse, an auction of souvenirs from the legendary singer (“Back to Black”, “Rehab”) could bring in around one million dollars, or over 863,000 euros.

This is appreciated by Martin Nolan, chairman of Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, who put together the auction of over 800 estate pieces with Amy’s parents, Mitch and Janis.

“This is a wonderful occasion to celebrate a truly global icon,” said Nolan of the German Press Agency with a view to the two-day auction this weekend (6/7 November). One of the highlights of the huge collection of clothing, shoes, books and other personal effects is the dress the British singer wore at her last official concert. The green and black mini dress, designed by longtime designer and stylist Naomi Parry, is valued at $ 15,000 to $ 20,000.

At the concert in Belgrade in June 2011, Winehouse was drawn to her addiction. She staggered across the stage and was booed. Shortly afterwards, she canceled her planned tour of Europe. On July 23, the star was found dead in his London apartment. Winehouse, who had struggled with alcohol and drug addiction and mental health problems since her breakthrough in 2006, died of alcohol poisoning at the age of only 27.

The singer made her second and last album “Back To Black” a world star with her incredible soul voice, eye-catching hairstyle and fashionable outfits. It earned her five Grammys and many other awards in 2008. The tight black skirt that Winehouse wore at the ceremony could fetch up to $ 5,000 at the weekend auction, according to estimates.

A heart-shaped red leather bag designed for Winehouse by the Moschino label is estimated at up to $ 20,000. “She loved hearts,” says Nolan. Numerous heart-shaped sunglasses will also be auctioned. The estate of the “avid reader” also includes books about musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Ella Fitzgerald.

A birthday card that Winehouse received from her British colleague Adele will also be auctioned. “It’s a piece of pop culture history,” says Nolan. Amy kept this card as a friendship souvenir. It is listed in the auction catalog at $ 200 to $ 400.

A woman’s sketch that Winehouse had drawn on a notepad in a Berlin hotel could bring in around twice as much. In addition to many high-heeled pumps, the singer’s large shoe collection also includes ballerina shoes that the star wore on stage with Mick Jagger.

Part of the auction proceeds will go to a good cause – the money will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation set up by their parents to protect young people from alcohol and drug abuse. Nolan said he had planned the auction with Amy’s parents for more than eight years. For her it was an “emotional journey” – but also the best way to keep the memory of her daughter alive.
