American elected official sanctioned for violent video against Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

This had not happened since 2010. Republican elected representative Paul Gosar was reprimanded with a “reprimand” in the House of Representatives on Wednesday and lost his functions in two parliamentary committees. A primarily symbolic sanction which follows the broadcast of a parody video in which we saw a character with the face of the elected official kill Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attack Joe Biden.

Paul Gosar, representative of Arizona, was sanctioned by 223 votes to 207. Only two Republicans voted with Democrats, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, who denounced a “violent” and “unacceptable” rhetoric after the assault on the Capitol on January 6.

Attack on Titan

Donald Trump’s vindictive ally, Paul Gosar regularly echoes the baseless accusations of electoral fraud in the 2020 presidential election launched by the former Republican president. He is also seen as close to white nationalist circles and praised the January 6 rioters.

This latest scandal concerning him erupted after he tweeted an edited video of theanime Japanese Attack on Titan. We saw the hero, with the head of Gosar, killing an enemy on which the face of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had been encrusted. Paul Gosar removed the video, which had racked up millions of views, but did not express remorse in public or apologize to those targeted.
