Two patients from a patient transport vehicle died in a head-on collision in Upper Franconia. The 69-year-old man and the 95-year-old woman were driven in the minibus towards Selb (Wunsiedel district) on Wednesday afternoon, the police said. On the state road, an oncoming driver of an off-road vehicle wanted to turn off and, for reasons that are still unclear, collided with the patient transporter.
The 69-year-old patient died at the scene of the accident. The 95-year-old and the 62-year-old driver of the patient car were taken to the hospital. There, the elderly woman succumbed to her injuries a few hours later, the police said.
