LUXEMBOURG – September 28, 2022 – Amazon today announced the next-generation Fire TV Cube, the most powerful streaming media player in the Fire TV family to date, and Alexa Voice Remote Pro, a premium remote with Remote Finder and programmable buttons.

Fire TV Cube – Greater performance and speed
The new Fire TV Cube is Amazon’s best Fire TV streaming media player yet. With a 20% more powerful 2.0 GHz octa-core processor compared to the previous generation, apps launch faster and the streaming experience is smoother than ever on Fire TV. Fire TV Cube can be controlled hands-free with Alexa and supports 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. The device offers a range of new features, including an HDMI input, Wi-Fi 6E support and Super Resolution technology.
The Fire TV Cube is the first Fire TV streaming media player to have an integrated HDMI input. Customers can thus integrate their home entertainment system into the Fire TV experience by connecting compatible cable or satellite boxes, Blu-ray players or other devices. This makes it easy to control live TV, compatible devices or on-demand streaming with Alexa Voice Remote or hands-free with Alexa. The Fire TV Cube also features an additional USB port to connect compatible webcams for video calling with Alexa contacts. For example, customers say “Alexa, call Mom” to stay in touch even on the largest screen in the house.
Fire TV Cube is the first Fire TV streaming media player with Wi-Fi 6E support. With a compatible router, customers can enjoy a seamless entertainment experience without interference from other WiFi devices in the home. If you need a wired network connection, the Fire TV Cube also has an Ethernet port.
Fire TV Cube also supports Super Resolution technology. Seamlessly converting HD content to 4K, it offers improved picture quality with greater detail, better contrast and clarity. Thanks to Super Resolution technology, content like movies originally shot in HD or grainy family photos look even sharper on a 4K display.
Alexa Voice Remote Pro – Remote Finder, programmable buttons, and backlight
The new Alexa Voice Remote Pro gives customers another option for interacting with Fire TV. Thanks to the premium remote control, you can concentrate entirely on streaming your favorite films and series. If it has been misplaced, the Remote Finder helps with the search. Customers simply say “Alexa, find my remote” or use the remote finder button in the Fire TV app. The Alexa Voice Remote Pro’s built-in speaker will then play a tone to help you find them.
Two new programmable buttons on Alexa Voice Remote Pro enable even faster access to favorite apps or channels, as well as Alexa functions. For example, customers can program a button to use Alexa to dim the lights, check the weather forecast, or start a movie night routine. Alexa Voice Remote Pro also features a motion-activated backlight that turns on automatically when the remote is picked up in low-light conditions.
Barrier-free and sustainable
Fire TV Cube supports Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA), allowing customers to connect compatible Bluetooth hearing aids directly. The Fire TV Cube and Alexa Voice Remote Pro are also Climate Pledge Friendly and join the growing list of Amazon devices that are reducing their carbon footprint year after year. To achieve this, both products have used more sustainable materials and made design changes to reduce overall energy consumption over their lifetime. In addition, 99% of the Fire TV Cube packaging and 96% of the Alexa Voice Remote Pro packaging are made from wood fiber materials sourced from responsibly managed forests or recycled sources.
