He not only founded the online service Amazon. Famous as a tough boss and richest person on earth, he wants to reach for the stars with Blue Origin. With the “two-pizza rule” he goes a special way.

Jeff Bezos, who was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1964, was already very inquisitive and interested in literature and science as a child.

So he liked to calculate for his grandmother more often when she should bless the time because of her tobacco consumption. In 1986 he completed his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and computer science at Princeton University with top marks.

The gap in the market was recognized and closed

After getting his first job on Wall Street in the 1990s, Bezos saw the opportunities online trading would bring. In 1994 he successfully implemented his vision of setting up a global online bookstore. In week 2 of business, he’s already making over $ 20,000 in revenue. In his garage in California, he first worked on doors as countertops. Modern e-business and online cross-marketing was born.

Meanwhile is Amazon one of the largest companies in the world, has billions in sales and is a pioneer in online trading. Jeff Bezos himself is considered a tough boss, and his dealings with employees are very strict. It is significant that the name of his company should initially be “rentless”, that is, “merciless”. Friends advised against it. Nevertheless, Amazon can also be found at www.rentless.com.

The billionaire can do little with many things in modern business. He rejects PowerPoint presentations and finds a lively discussion between business partners more productive. In order to make this discussion meaningful, the “two-pizza rule” is important to him. This means that only so many people are allowed to take part in a session that the round can be fed up with two pizzas.

Donations and visions

According to Forbes Magazine, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk are considered the richest people in the world. Even after his divorce from his long-time wife MacKenzie Bezos, with whom he has four children – including a daughter who was adopted from China – nothing changed. While many people accuse him that he and his companies pay too little taxes, the entrepreneur makes regular donations. He invested $ 35 million in The Clock of the Long Now, and $ 2 million in a campaign for same-sex marriages. He is also committed to combating homelessness, hunger and climate change.

New business and retreat

Bezos is viewed extremely critically. He founded his space company “Blue Origin” back in 2000. It only became really well known in recent years. He himself made headlines last year when he afforded himself a flight into space in what was viewed as decadent and immoral. In 2013, he bought the Washington Post for $ 250 million and saved the company through that takeover. To this day, he can allegedly be reached at [email protected]. He should read every message personally. But in the meantime he has resigned as Amazon boss and stepped into the second ranks. When he left, he wrote in a letter that he was bursting with energy. In the future, he would invest more time in his space company.
