Am Wörthsee: Art object bent in Freinacht – Starnberg

According to the police headquarters in Oberbayern-Nord, the so-called Freinacht passed without any major incidents. Although the operations center in Ingolstadt recorded 122 operations related to the free night in its area of responsibility on the night of May 1, the officials said that there were no frequent disturbances of the peace and damage to property as in other years. However, 34 disturbances of the peace, six damage to property and seven offenses involving bodily harm were reported. The police headquarters cites an incident in Utting as an example: Around midnight in Jahnstrasse, young people threw eggs at a 59-year-old woman.

The so-called “Spindel” in Steinebach was not specifically mentioned by the police. The recently erected sculpture by the object artist Max Mirlach was severely bent.

In Kempfenhausen, the roadway of state road 2070 was also daubed with several Z symbols. The forbidden symbol was applied to the asphalt in several places using white spray paint. The Starnberg police have started investigations into property damage and the approval of criminal offenses. The on-call service from the Wolfratshausen road maintenance department was requested to remove the debris.

The Z symbol is banned because it is seen as a sign of support for Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine.
