It doesn’t take a minute for the first onlooker to come. No wonder, because the pump hisses and gurgles as if we were in a canteen kitchen. “What a ship!” marvels an elderly gentleman while hydrogen flows into the Toyota Mirai at 700 bar. As it turns out, the senior is less interested in the technology than in the appearance of the five-meter sedan: “In such a car you feel like Christian Lindner on the way to Sylt.”
