Alpine skiing – World Cup. Bansko: Marco Odermatt continues his flawless performance as a giant by winning in Bansko

Odermatt in front, the French placed, the summary of the first round

The Bansko giant is not played at the end of the first round. No, this time, Marco Odermatt did not make a huge mistake pushing him back to 11th place since he is even in the lead but the gaps are smaller. The Helvetian was generally cautious but intelligent. He secured the wall before releasing the skis and sticking to everyone at the bottom for at least half a second. “Odi” will close the gate.

Steen Olsen in good momentum

Alexander Steen Olsen opted for the same tactic as Marco Odermatt. The young Norwegian is confident after his 4th place in Schladming and he shows it in Bulgaria. Calm, stability allowed him to turn green at the last intermediate. Finally, he was relegated to 35 hundredths and will play for a first podium in the discipline.

Manuel Feller took advantage of his bib 1 to take provisional 3rd place. On this icy track, the Austrian had free reign and the grip was very present. Only 47 hundredths behind. Four other skiers are below the second compared to the leader, notably Filip Zubcic and Loic Meillard.

Favrot and Anguenot in the mix

Thibaut Favrot was not the most comfortable on this surface but the Alsatian fought really well to lose as little time as possible. 12th at 1”68 and an interesting result to be had in the second round. Victor Muffat-Jeandet sinned physically even though his round was good. No qualifications.

Léo Anguenot is one of the only ones to return with a higher bib (29). The skier from La Clusaz obtained the best time in the first intermediate and finished less than 2 seconds behind, in 15th place.

Diego Orecchioni was not far from qualifying. Only three tenths and the 34th time of the round. Clément Noël competed in the first giant of his season but did not finish it. See you at 12:30 p.m. for the second round.
