French ski racer Alexis Pinturault won gold in alpine combined at his home World Championships.

French ski racer Alexis Pinturault won gold in alpine combined at his home World Championships.

After the Super-G and the slalom in Courchevel, the 31-year-old was a tenth of a second ahead of Austrian Marco Schwarz, who became world champion in Cortina d’Ampezzo in 2021. Third was Schwarz compatriot Raphael Haaser, 0.44 seconds back.

Simon Jocher ended up in 13th place after a messed up slalom. His German teammates Andreas Sander and Romed Baumann were 15th and 18th after the Super-G, but did not start in the slalom.

For Pinturault it is the second world title in the combination after 2019. So far this winter he has not coped too well. Pinturault has yet to win a race in the World Cup this season.
