The Norwegian ski star Aleksander Aamodt Kilde suffered a small fracture near his right wrist during training in Kitzbühel, but still wants to start in the downhill on Friday (11.30 a.m. / ZDF and Eurosport).

The 30-year-old had to reach into the snow once during his training run on the Streif on Thursday. At the finish, he raised his hand later, but gave a thumbs-up.

“I was lucky. It wasn’t as dangerous as I first feared,” Kilde told Norwegian media. He will stabilize his hand and start anyway. The speed specialist has won four of the six downhill runs so far this season and is one of the big favorites at the Hahnenkamm races.
