Almost 60% of the population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine

Nearly 60% of the French population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. “Soon 40 million first-time vaccines. We are going forward. Let’s not let up on our efforts. Get vaccinated, ”Emmanuel Macron tweeted. This threshold should be crossed on Monday, given that more than 39.94 million French people – or 59.2% of the population – have received at least a first dose of vaccine. They are nearly 50% (33.2 million) to have a complete vaccination schedule, according to figures from the Ministry of Health.

The key figures for the health situation remain stable, despite the sharp rise in cases of contamination for about two weeks (16,167 new cases on Sunday). Hospitals had 6,843 Covid-19 patients on Sunday (6,787 Saturday) with 92 new admissions over 24 hours (182 Saturday), according to figures from Public Health France. Among these patients, 886 are in critical care services which have received 16 new ones since Saturday.

The positivity rate continues to rise

The 7-day trend remains on a slow but steady rise, with 1,837 admissions (1,800 Saturday) in hospital wards in one week, including 376 in critical care. The positivity rate over the last seven days consolidated on D-3, which measures the proportion of positive cases out of the number of people tested, continues to rise, to 4.2% on Sunday (4% on Saturday). It was 2% on Sunday July 18.

The Covid-19 has killed six patients in 24 hours, for a total of 111,644 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
