At home in the USA he is a star, but less well known in this country, even though he was part of the celebrated US series “Glee”, among other things. Today Matthew Morrison turns 43.

He introduces himself via Instagram as an actor, singer, dancer and “gypsy” and not least uses social media to draw attention to his appearances: Matthew Morrison is blessed with many talents.

Very few people in Europe know him, except in Great Britain. Born on October 30, 1978 in California, he trained as a musical performer in New York after high school. Today he turns 43.

The theatrical version of the dance and music film “Footloose” marks Morrison’s Broadway debut. This was followed by roles in the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and finally as Link Larkin in the original Broadway production “Hairspray”, which gave him his final breakthrough before he finally disguised himself as “Grinch”.

Morrison had become known to a larger audience through the extremely successful, music-driven and Golden Globe Award-winning comedy series “Glee” from 2009 onwards. He starred in the cheerful high school teacher and talent scout Will Schuester. He also had guest appearances in series such as “Sex And The City”, “CSI: Miami” or “Grey’s Anatomy”.

Morrison is an avid father. He once wrote to his little son on Instagram: “You’re the most beautiful gift I’ve ever received.” The mother of his ancestor Revel James is Morrison’s wife Renee. The couple tied the knot seven years ago in Hawaii and had a second child this summer: Phoenix Monroe. Morrison reports on Facebook: “Our family is now complete” and shows a picture of the same.
