Oliver Pocher’s ex-wife Alessandra Meyer-Wölden has revealed why she temporarily withdrew from the German public.

Since the beginning of November last year, Alessandra “Sandy” Meyer-Wölden (41) has been more present in Germany than ever. Oliver Pocher’s ex-wife (46) took over the podcast “Die Pochers!” the place of Amira Pocher (31) after the comedian and the presenter separated. For Sandy Meyer-Wölden, this represented a conscious step back into the German public, and also a kind of new beginning. The 41-year-old is now revealing this in conversation with the TV magazine “Gala”.

Alessandra Meyer-Wölden: “It wasn’t always easy for me”

Eleven years ago, Meyer-Wölden moved to the USA after her marriage to Oliver Pocher ended. “I no longer felt the need to be in public,” she reveals in an interview with presenter Annika Lau (45). It wasn’t just her marriage to the comedian that made headlines at the time. A few years earlier, Meyer-Wölden had become known to a wider audience in Germany, among other things, through her much-publicized relationship with Boris Becker (56).

“It hasn’t always been easy for me in the past. I’ve been there for so long and a lot has changed. Back when I came into the public eye, there was no social media. There were reports about one, a lot,” Meyer-Wölden recalls in the interview. At the time, she “couldn’t really defend herself” and was “often labeled” “as someone with whom you don’t actually identify.”

Podcast “The Pochers!” as a restart

When Oliver Pocher called in the fall of 2023 and invited her to his podcast after the separation from Amira, Meyer-Wölden decided: “I’ll just be me and show people the most authentic version of myself and I’m no longer afraid of it.” And that, according to Meyer-Wölden, worked well. Today many people would see her with different eyes. The reactions ranged from “I had the wrong impression of you” to “How nice that you are finally showing yourself as you are.”

RTL will show the entire interview with Alessandra Meyer-Wölden on Saturday, May 18th at 5:45 p.m. The show is also on the in-house streaming service RTL+ available.
