In the summer of 1983, Simone Langer was murdered. A call for witnesses in the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY” is intended to help clarify the cold case.

In the summer of 1983, 15-year-old Simone Langer from Donauwörth, Bavaria, disappeared on her way home from a party. Two months later, her body is found in a wooded area. Almost 39 years later, “Aktenzeichen XY… unsolved” resumes the search for the perpetrator.

July 28, 1983 is the first day of school holidays in Bavaria. Simone Langer celebrates the birthday of a classmate in Wörnitzstein in the evening. The 15-year-old from Donauwörth wants to stay until midnight – that’s what her parents agreed on. Also that a friend should take her home. But at around 12:15 a.m., the schoolgirl sets off alone on her bike on the six-kilometer route home. But the teenager does not arrive at home.

The next morning, around 11 a.m., her bike was found just before the Donauwörther town sign. But Simone Langer remains missing. Two months later, on September 30, a mushroom picker found her body in a wooded area about 80 kilometers away in the Middle Franconian municipality of Allersberg near the A9. It quickly becomes clear: the 15-year-old was murdered.

The police are looking for clues. Accordingly, Simone Langer was apparently attacked between 0.30 a.m. and 1 a.m. Local residents say they heard cries for help and saw a VW bus or camper parked on the side of the road near the bike that was later found.

To date, the crime has not been solved. Now the complete “cold case” is being rolled up again by the Dillingen criminal police and will be broadcast on Wednesday from 8.15 p.m. on the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY unsolved” with Rudi Cerne. The investigators hope that this step will above all provide crucial information from the population, which can lead to the clarification of the murder case. A trail could also lead to Upper Franconia in the Kronach area.

At the time of the disappearance, Simone Langer was wearing:

  • a yellow t-shirt with a submarine collar, 1/2 sleeves with turn-ups
  • long green cotton trousers without a belt
  • grey, worn suede boots with leather soles and laces
  • possibly a light blue long-sleeved sweatshirt, front with three white buttons from S. Oliver

The student was traveling with a red women’s sports bike with 5 gears. She also carried a plastic bag with bathing suits.

  • Who saw Simone Langer on the night of July 29, 1983?
  • Who can provide information about a van in the area of ​​bicycle location?
  • Who was able to make observations in the area where the bodies were found in Allersberg in Middle Franconia?

A reward of 10,000 euros has been offered for information leading to the investigation of the crime or the arrest of the perpetrator.
