Ajaccio sinks Angers, Nantes stumbles on Troyes

Ajaccio finally continues. Thanks to their narrow success against Angers (1-0), the Corsicans chained for the first time this season 3 matches in a row without defeat in Ligue 1. However, everything was not rosy in this duel of badly classified, this Wednesday. For the first on the bench of Abdel Bouhazama, Angers would have deserved to score at least one goal but was weighed down by his clumsiness (10th, 55th) and the saves of Benjamin Leroy (52nd, 56th). And even after those hurdles passed, success fled the SCO. Adrien Hunou saw his goal disallowed for a slight offside position at the start of the action (7th), before seeing his face-to-face with the Corsican goalkeeper fail on the post (17th).

Opposite, the Ajacciens did not waste as many cartridges. If Mounaïm El-Idrissy sent shivers over Paul Bernardoni’s goal (3rd, 45th + 2), it was the inevitable Youcef Belaïli who made the difference. The Algerian played with the Angevin goalkeeper, forced to mow him down in the area. Logical penalty for the winner of CAN 2019 who did not ask so much to score his 3rd goal of the season in the exercise (40th). Delighted to get away with it so cheaply, the Corsicans were then content to control the meeting, relying on the exploits of Leroy when necessary or on the clumsiness – again – of Sada Thioub (87th). With these 3 points, Ajaccio goes back to 14th place and sinks Angers, last 6 points from Nantes, first not relegated.

Nantes does not convince

In a sparse Aube stadium, Nantes and Troyes seemed to get bogged down in a 90-minute long observation round. Patrick Kisnorbo enthroned on the Trojan bench, the spectators were able to see his 4-2-3-1 at work. And if Estac had possession (55%), it is clear that it created little danger on the goal of Alban Lafont.

It took two individual feats to worry the Nantes defense. Andreas Bruus, rarely found on the right wing, first touched the bar after a very spontaneous hook-strike sequence (36th). Then Xavier Chavalerin saw his shot slowed down by Lafont, before crashing on the post (81st). Very happy, the Frenchman got up quickly to embrace his post.

Before that, Mateusz Lis had won in a face-to-face against Moussa Sissoko who was the only real opportunity for the Canaries (20th) despite 19 shots attempted. Because in a meeting where the rhythm was sorely lacking, the two teams never seemed able to capsize the match. And are satisfied with a point which does not help anyone, as recalled by the public who whistled the 22 actors at the end of the meeting. Troyes is 13th and Nantes provisionally 16th, risks slipping into the red zone at the end of this 16th day.
