Agriculture – war raises feed prices – economy

Farmers are concerned as wheat prices soar due to the war between Russia and Ukraine. Both countries are among the world’s largest grain exporters. As a result, the war will further increase the already high prices for raw materials. Experts believe it is unlikely that farmers will be able to achieve prices for their pigs, cattle or chickens that will compensate for the high feed costs. Chicken farmers, for example, at best compensated for their costs due to the increased feed prices, but the proceeds were not sufficient for a profit. The situation is even more serious for pig farmers.
