After van Bommel’s dismissal: four former Bundesliga coaches acted as successors
Mark van Bommel had to leave surprisingly in Wolfsburg. Four former Bundesliga coaches are now being traded as successors.
Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg allegedly targeted Florian Kohfeldt and Edin Terzic when looking for a successor for coach Mark van Bommel. Several media report this unanimously.
The former Bremer Kohfeldt (39) has been without a trainer job and as a TV expert since leaving Werder in May Amazon employed. Terzic (38) works as technical director at Borussia Dortmund and was already in conversation with VfL before van Bommel.
After van Bommel’s dismissal: Tedesco and Favre also acted – assistant coach Frontzeck as an interim solution?
The Dutchman was sacked by the Wolves on Sunday after the 2-0 defeat against SC Freiburg. The club wants to present a successor “promptly”.
Other candidates named in various media are Domenico Tedesco (most recently Spartak Moscow), the former Dortmund Lucien Favre or the ex-Kieler Ole Werner.
It is also conceivable that assistant coach Michael Frontzeck will take over the post for the time being. The 57-year-old took up his post with van Bommel at the beginning of the season.
